Emilsider was founded in 1956 as a trading company for screws and bolts.

This activity was later followed by production with the manufacture of turned or cold-forged small metal parts and, particularly, pins for fastening furniture casters. Coinciding with the company's move from its Bologna headquarters to Granarolo Emilia, production of the first metal casters for furniture began in 1963.

In 1975 the range was expanded with the production of twin casters that were developed through new patented construction techniques making use of a particular mixture, of Emilsider formula, related to some plastic components.
These strategies were the basis of the two ideal characteristics required for the product: simultaneous resistance to both wear and breakage.

The circular hub fairing system, around the horizontal axis of rotation of the rotating parts, which creates effective protection from the infiltration of wires, hair and the like.

The vertical axis rotation system, supported by a steel ball, which minimizes the friction created by the weight of the chair.

5000 Wheel Versions

The modular system of product conception, which, through a large range of accessories, colors and standard and special packaging, allows with just a few carefully structured basic models to obtain about 5,000 versions of chair and furniture casters, aimed at every need.

ADAPTO System

The system of coupling the wheel to the base of the chair (patented by us under the brand name "ADAPTO), which allows the wheels we produce to be aesthetically adapted to any type of office chair.

Reduced delivery time

The special production of the attachment pins, derived from the specific experience of our early years of operation and performed completely in-house, which enables the assembly lines to be continuously fed while minimizing the delivery time of the finished product.

The special care in the processing of components, carried out completely within our factories, which allows the finished product to be assembled with automated equipment.

The automated quality control system during all stages of processing, constant final spot checks, and continuous laboratory tests, which allow only fully compliant products to be shipped to the customer.

The internal and external logistics system (through special agreements with leading freight forwarders) and the packaging system (through packages, containers and pallets that meet international standards), which enable perfect handling and storage of products.

The system of designing and making molds and special equipment for processing, assembly and control (completely in-house at Emilsider), which guarantees the protection of applied technologies, the study of new products and the continuous innovation of existing products.

Certifications

Emilsider since the beginning of its activity has set product quality as its main directive. Essential for the achievement of this goal, in addition to, the selection and qualitative consistency of raw materials and production technologies, have been systematic and constant controls of production. In fact, it is our care to continuously test production in accordance with EN and BIFMA standards.

The suitability of Emilsider's testing laboratory has been certified by the well-known product certification body LGA in Nuremberg.

Although the wheel is rarely placed at the center of attention during the creative process, nevertheless, attention must be paid to numerous safety aspects when designing this furniture component whose functionality is so important.
Therefore, the EMIRING wheel with its understated and essential design has been equipped with an innovative safety brake that allows the user to adjust the wheel's braking force according to his or her safety needs.
The suitability of Emilsider's test laboratory has been certified by the well-known product certification body LGA in Nuremberg.
